Wrong Number

Today Doc decided to look up an old college buddy of his. After spending a while on Google he obtained both address and phone number. He hurriedly called, made contact , and they began to talk about old times. After about 20 minutes they discovered that they were not old college buddies and in fact didn't even know each other...same names...different people. They laughed and talked for another 15 minutes.  BTW this buddies name is of all things "Tom Sawyer".

LOCKDOWN

Two days ago, the building where Doc's office is was placed on lockdown due to the sighting of a possibly armed man.   Doc is well known around the university and throughout the community as a gun enthusiast. As soon as we received the text alert regarding the possible gunman, I immediately issued a disclaimer via text and Facebook.  Doc was nowhere near campus.  Moments later they issued an evacuation order for the building.  We figure that was when the SWAT team found Doc's office! We realized something:   he had TWO DUMMY GRENADES on his desk, an ADVANCED ARMAMENT SUPPRESSOR sticker on his door, and an EMPTY HOLSTER in the corner. An FBI agent called yesterday and wanted to know if' Doc would like to CONFESS. He declined.

P.S. Between us we received 42 phone calls and/or text messages wondering was he in trouble or had he found and shot the guy! THINGS HAPPEN TO US THAT JUST DON'T HAPPEN TO OTHER PEOPLE!

I Cannot Take Doc Anywhere

Doc and I visited an old friend tonight in the hospital. This friend is a great man, was an awesome law enforcement officer and is fighting COPD for his every breath.  We had only been in his room five seconds when alarms and sirens started sounding.  His poor son, jumped out of the chair where he was resting and started checking hoses and tubes, our friend looks stunned and I am thinking the worst.  All of a sudden I look down and Doc is standing on the poor guys oxygen hose. NOT INTENTIONALLY I MUST ADD. I said "Oh my Lord , you are STANDING on his Oxygen hose"  Having realized  it is connected to a supply  he is currently not using our friend starts ACTING like he is fighting to breathe!  I almost just left and left Doc behind! Finally his son said "oh he is not using that one right now"!  Only Doc would go to visit the guy fighting for every breath and stand on his OXYGEN HOSE! See I told you things happen to us that just don't happen to other people.

Curly Moe and Stupid

We have three miniature dachshunds, Harley, Junior and Abby or Curly, Moe and Stupid as they are sometimes affectionately known.  No one in their right mind should have three dachshunds, so that explains the mental state in our household.  Don't ask me how we got three, I am not sure, but I KNOW it is Doc's fault.  These dogs have a wonderful three story dog house that they allow us to SHARE  and make mortgage payments on! They have the typical dog philosophy "If you can't eat it or screw it, piss on it!"  They eat and have eaten almost anything.  They even ate an ottoman, I don't mean they chewed on it, THEY ATE IT.  They are all neutered or spade, as we are responsible pet owners.  They play and fight and fight and play!  They even do a Conga line.  If I could ever get it on film I could win millions.  Our daughter and I insist Doc loves them more than he does us, but he says absolutely not, HE LOVES US JUST AS MUCH!

About Us!

Doc is my husband, picture short, round, full white beard and twinkly eyes.  If you are thinking Santa Claus, YOU GOT IT!  Little did I know when I first laid eyes on this guy 25 years ago just how exciting my life would be.  My husband is a college professor, computer forensics investigator, former deputy, gun collector and seems at times to be a cult hero.  Our daughter and I warn newbies, not to drink the KOOL-AID!  Our daughter is 21 and studying to be a psychologist, thanks in no small part I am sure to her FATHER AND I .  I am forty-something and awaiting my bar exam results.  Most people at 40 get a sports car or a lover NOT ME I went to law school!  I have taken the bar three times prior to now, but this time I tried a different approach I STUDIED.  Adding to the chaos we have three miniature dachshunds and daily interaction with my 82 year old mother. We always thought we were fairly average until we started to discover STUFF HAPPENS TO US THAT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN TO OTHER PEOPLE!
